Topping ¼ cup light brown sugar 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg 3 Tablespoons cold butter
Cut your bread into 1 inch cubes and place them in your baking dish in an even layer.
In a large bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes.
For the topping, stir together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Then add the cold butter and cut in with a pastry blender or two forks, until it resembles pea sized crumbs.
Sprinkle the topping over the bread cubes, then cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to overnight.
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 30-35 minutes until set.
